Midnight in the Desert with Art Bell on Shortwave

Art Bell, former host of “Coast to Coast AM,” has created a new show. Starting today, he is starting a test run of “Midnight in the Desert.” While listeners can hear the show online and on certain local radio stations, shortwave listeners can tune into the program on WBCQ on either 7490 kHz and 9330 kHz on weeknights from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.

  1. Hi Chris. You say it’s broadcast on SW on the weekends. What time is this (it’s only on weekdays when it’s broadcast live via internet radio and local stations)?

    • Hey Mike, I just look at the show’s website and found out that it airs on weeknights from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Central time (or 0400-0700 UTC). I have updated the post with this information. That test run was on a Sunday so I assumed that the show was on weekends. It seems like the program is competing against Coast to Coast AM.

  2. I could never hear WBCQ here in Dallas Tx but was able to get a strong signal from WTWW on 5085. Is there any reason you did not tell us about WTWW? According to Art’s people they were the first to carry the program?

    • It’s a conspiracy to hide all knowledge of anything WTWW. There’s no reason people must know about the super amazing radio station WTWW.

It’s that or I simply did not know that it was carried on WTWW and the post was mostly about my catch on WBCQ.
