About Chris Freitas
I am a graduate of the University of Memphis with a B.A. in Communications (concentration in Broadcasting and Journalism). I plan to work in radio somewhere in either Tennessee, Massachusetts, or Florida.
In the meantime, I am working at WUMR 92, the Jazz Lover, and ESPN Radio 92.9 FM (Entercom) here in Memphis. I also like to draw, take photos, and listen to shortwave radio. Video games take a big chunk of my free time, but you already know that. My biggest dream is to be a radio announcer and producer.
Right now, my dream is becoming a reality by working at WUMR and WMFS 92.9 FM. Eventually, I want to produce my own radio show, either by on-air or using the internet to distribute my material. The show I have in mind could be based by one of my two passionate hobbies: shortwave radio or video games. I intend to create a program that will promote the awareness and knowledge of shortwave broadcasting because it is the only medium that can cross borders without censorship.
As for this blog, this is my own personal soapbox. I will use this site to promote my passions and maybe help people become more interested into shortwave listening and video games, or at least understand more about these subjects.
